Burn Calories and Improve Flexibility While Getting It On

While sex offers an array of health benefits, one of its more obvious advantages is that it involves some degree of physical activity and you can burn extra calories while having fun. If you are looking to expand your sexual repertoire in the sex-positions department, read on, experiment and find the perfect combinations that work for you. The positions described below involve one man and one woman, but can be modified to suit two women, two men, threesomes, foursomes and larger groups.

Fun Sex Positions to Explore

The Director’s Chair

This position is even more fun in front of a mirror! One partner sits upright in a sturdy chair while the other sits on their lap, back-to-chest, facing away. You can plant your feet firmly on the floor or prop them on the chair for a full squat. Think deep glutes and quads workout meets full-body grind. Bonus: try it in front of a mirror for added visual stimulation.

Want to boost sensation even more? Try wearing the We-Vibe Melt during this position — its Pleasure Air technology is ideal for clitoral stimulation without direct pressure.

The Wheelbarrow

A childhood game turned very-adult cardio blast: one partner holds the other’s thighs while they’re in a plank or downward-dog position. Upper body strength is essential, but even short spurts of thrusting or twerking work wonders for your core and arms. If fatigue sets in, shift to resting on forearms or simply hold still and enjoy the stretch.

Need a little post-sex recovery? The Mini Wand isn’t just for orgasms — it also makes a stellar muscle soother after your sexy sweat session.

The Bridge

This position requires some strength and flexibility, but many find it’s worth the effort. One partner lies on their back while the other kneels between their legs, facing them. The partner on their back can raise and wrap their legs around their partner’s hips during penetration. They then reach their palms over and behind their head, flat against the ground. Their buttocks and hips should be lifted off the floor, supported by their partner. When they feel up for it, they press their palms into the ground to lift their entire back, head, and buttocks off the floor, forming a gymnastic bridge with only their hands touching down. The kneeling partner supports their pelvis and lower body with hands on the buttocks to reduce the weight being carried through the arms.

For extra clitoral attention mid-thrust, try slipping on the We-Vibe Moxie+ its ergonomic design is perfect for hands-free fun.

The Swan Dive

In this position, one partner sits on their buttocks with their back upright and knees slightly bent. The receiving partner straddles their pelvic area on their knees, facing away so that both are looking in the same direction. The receiving partner lowers themself onto their partner and reaches behind their back to clasp their hands behind the other’s neck for support as they lean forward. They should be on their knees with their body angled forward at about forty-five degrees. Their feet come off the ground behind their partner’s back and can be held for additional support. Both partners can rock gently back and forth for clitoral, penile, or vaginal stimulation. Consider placing a pillow beneath the knees to reduce pressure.

Sideways

This position is simple. One partner lies on their side at the edge of the bed while the other stands upright beside them. The partner on the bed can use their hands, mouth, and chest to caress their partner’s genitals, and/or the standing partner can penetrate from various angles. If the partner lying down rolls over to face away, their anus can be stimulated with hands, mouth, or a penis. Be sure to use lots (and lots!) of lube for anal play, and avoid transferring anything from the anus to the mouth or vagina without thorough washing and a fresh condom.

Progress slowly when experimenting with new positions, make use of your healthy sense of homour and always practice safer sex.
